Meet My Grandkids

I feel like a first class fool. Just the other day I had written this long post with a paragraph or two about each of my 4 grandkids. I even talked, and will again, what incredible parents my two oldest grandkids have. My youngest daughter has only  been a Mom for a little over a year and I can see already that she is going to be our Super Mom. I mean she is making her own baby food and using cloth diapers! Cloth diapers, who knew? But my Kelle has been surprising me since befpre she was born. Hell, I was surprised that at 30 I was pregnant with her! And you know what? She was also 30 when she was pregnamt. She was 31 when Evie was born. I was only close to 31 when she was born. Evie. That is another thing that surprised me. Most people these days are naming their kids these new age names that sound like they got them off of a cartoon show. But not my Kelle. Nope. She went for a name that I have not heard sincce I was a child and the person who had it was an old lady! My precious granddaughter is named Evelyn Louise. And I think it is just beaautiful. It took it a minute for me to really hear it, but as soon as it sunk in, I thought, WOW, what a name! I have no clue where she got Evelyn. I was on the phone with her one day and asked her about baby names and started by teelling me about boys names amd I said, No, you are having a girl, so tell mr what names you have picked out for a girl. Then she wanted to know how I knew what she was having because she did not even know. She and Mike wanted to be surprised. And she said that everyone who saw her said she was carrying low, like a boy. And I told her then she really was going to be surprised because she was having a girl and I had not even seen her. So she said they were thinking about Sadie and I told her I thought that was cute and then she said she also liked Evie. I said that was cute too. And when I asked her about middle names, she said she had not thought of any. Well, about noon time on April 15th she called me and said, you were right, you have got a granddaughter. That part did not surprise me. The fact that she did not call me before the baby was born os what surprised me, but I tried hard to be a good Mom and keep my mouth shut and then the kicker came. I asked her what they had named her and she said Evelyn Louise and I nearly drove off the bridge. Kelles middle name is Louise and so is mine and she told me that she wanted to keep the Louise going. My dads Mother was also Louise. So, just between you and me, I am going to think that she loves her Mom so much that she wanted to name her child after her, when I know the real reason is so far from that its funny. But it makes me feel good. And what a gorgeous child she is. I have a picture of Kelle at Evelyns age and when I put them side by side, I swear I cannot tell the difference. But then I added my oldest daughters picture and agan, all 3 looked nearly exact. But I knew where I could find a difference. I grabbed a picture of Jillian, My oldesr daughters daughter, Jillian, who looks exactly like her dad and I threw her picture into the mix and was stunned! It looked like I had pictures of quadruplets! Except for the fact that you could tell the ages of the photographs, it could have been the same kid. I guess that means that the beauty genes come from me! As long as they age better than I did I am fine with that. But Somewhere along the way to where I am now, I looked in the mirrir and saw my mother looking back at me. I had to turn around to make sure she was really not there.
